SPELL

30.01-14.02.2016

SPELL / ARTzona movie <<<

The aim of the exhibition is to look into the concept of time perceived not only as a philosophical or spiritual notion, but also as psychological one. Performative installations are presented in two separate spaces of ARTzona. These installations, comprising two main elements: photosensitive matter as well as light (both natural light and LED lamps), and originating from different principles, create environments which encourage the viewer to confront their way of perceiving time.

Spell / Zaklęcie – photosensitive installation
From a scientific perspective, time does not exist independently of the person who perceives it. In some cultures, the feeling of being “outside of the realm of time” is considered a spiritual experience. SPELL constitutes an attempt to visually contemplate metaphysical nature of time.

Time pusher / Poganiacz czasu – light installation From psychological as well as existential standpoint, time is connected with the physical activity of time-measurement. ‘Time pusher’ installation deals with the situation of a man living under pressure of time.
